Thanks for stopping by my site.  For those interested, I'm a resident of Clifton Park, NY, where I've lived for the last 18 years.  My wife Mary Beth (Kearney) and I have three children: Laura, 19, who is a sophmore at Geneseo College; Kevin, 17; and James, 9; both attending the Shenendehowa School District.  I grew up in Troy, NY, and am a graduate of Troy High School '77 and Lafayette College, '81, BA Government & Law.  I've also completed significant graduate level work at the Rockefeller College School for Public Administration.  My parents are Ed (deceased) and Grace Bulger, and I'm brother to Tom, Mike, Grace (Phelan), and Matt Bulger.  Since college, I've lived in Pittsburgh and Portland, ME, but most of my time has been in the Capital District area.

I currently work as the District Director for Congressman Chris Gibson (R/C Kinderhook, NY) in the 20th Congressional District in upstate New York.  My primary responsibilities are managing the staff and office actions across the four Congressional District Offices, and coordinating the  activities and events for Congressman Gibson when he is in the District.

I have previously worked as a Manager in the Upstate New York/New England region for the Stryker Corporation, and specialized in total hip and knee replacements and trauma fracture fixation implants.  Over my 17 year orthopaedic implant career, I have been in thousands of operating room surgeries at many hospitals, and enjoyed working with hundreds of talented surgeons and O.R. staff.  Overall I have 29 years of private sector business, sales, and marketing experience, with such companies as Johnson & Johnson, Synthes, and Kidder Peabody.

Over the years, I've served in many leadership roles with a variety of organizations, including being President of the following: Troy Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, the Greater Troy Jaycees, the Lafayette College Interfraternity-Sorority Council (including Phi Delta Theta, The Hot Potato), The Stars & Stripes Festival, and others.  I recently resigned after seven years as Planning Board Chairman for the Town of Clifton Park, and currently serve on the Shenendehowa Schools Futures Committee, and the Medicus in Christi and Saratoga Bridges Board of Directors.  I have also held numerous positions with the Clifton Park and Saratoga County Republican Committees over the years, and I have been especially honored to help Congressman Gibson get elected to Congress in the November 2010 election.

My wife Mary Beth has worked as a nurse for over 20 years, and is a terrific wife and mom.  Our kids are the center of our lives, and we could not be more happy or proud of them.  I have a  wonderful extended family, a very large number of loyal and great friends, and overall the best life I could hope for.  I've travelled and studied abroad extensively, including being an exchange student to China and Germany, along with visting Afghanistan, Iran, India, Nepal, and many other fascinating countries.

I've certainly had my share of good times, but also the ups and downs that all of us go through at different points in our life.  I'm so very thankful to be a citizen of this great nation, and I look forward to serving any way I can as my life rolls on.  In particular, I am very proud and humbled by the men and women who volunteer to serve in our Armed Forces, and who protect freedom around the world every single day.
